Kathy Sylvester, CVT

Hospital Administrator

Kathy is a graduate of Cook College, Rutgers University, where she received an animal science/anthropology degree. A strong interest in veterinary dentistry drove her to pursue her studies in this area, resulting in an expertise in this field. Kathy has written various articles on dentistry as well as authoring a chapter on the subject in a current veterinary textbook. She was also an adjunct professor at Bergen, Morris and Sussex Community Colleges, where she taught veterinary dentistry to tech students. Kathy has been our Hospital Administrator since 2010.She feels her organizational skills, compassion, and “many years” in the veterinary field help her to be an effective Hospital Administrator. She tries to keep her staff motivated to practice the best veterinary medicine possible, offer superior customer service and stay current. Her leisure time is spent reading, decorating, sampling new wines, and traveling. Kathy shares her home in northern NJ with her husband, Rocco; as well as two rescue dogs, Sonny and Gio, and an African Gray parrot named Lucy.

Dawn

Senior Technician

Dawn has been part of the Rutherford Animal Hospital family for more than 10 years. She is our most experienced senior technician. Dawn's special interests include feline medicine, geriatric medicine, anesthesia, and ultrasonography. Dawn is an integral and extremely values member of our staff.

Outside of work Dawn enjoys spending time with her cats and fiance.

Christine

Reception Manager

Christine is one of our reception managers and has been a part of our team for 9 years. She's a New Jersey native and has been in the veterinary field for over 20 years. Christine has two Schnauzers Pippi and Finn. When she is not trying to keep Finn out of trouble she enjoys boating, going to the beach, wine tasting, traveling, and music.Christine's special interests include client education and veterinary medical insurance as it saved her puppy Finn more than once.

Donna

Reception Manager

Donna has been in the veterinary field and part of our family for 18 years. She enjoys interacting with clients as well as their pets. Her outgoing personality and mentorship makes her a natural leader in our reception area. Donna is always willing to go the extra mile to help our clients, doctors, and support staff.

Donna shares her home with 2 dogs, 1 hamster, and a guinea pig. Outside of work Donna likes spending time with her husband and children, traveling, and doing arts and crafts.

Sabrina

Senior Technician

Sabrina is our Senior Technician at Cats Exclusive Veterinary Hospital. She has been in the veterinary field for 10 years. Sabrina is one of our most experienced technicians when working with cats. She specializes in fear free restraint techniques.

Sabrina spends a lot of her time outside the hospital volunteering and working with local rescue groups. She is known to have a minimum of 5 foster cats in her home at once. She is a huge assest to our practices and to our feline patients.

Sabrina also enjoys Sci Fi, riding her motorcycle, and painting. Her home is ruled by her 6 cats.

Mark

Senior Technician

Mark has been in the veterinary field for over 18 years. He's worked in emergency medicine as well as general practice. His special interests include anesthesia and surgery, which he's pursuing advanced certification in.

Outside of work Mark enjoys spending his time with family and friends. He's a big sports fan and supports the Oakland Raiders and LA Lakers. Mark currently does not have any pets but his favorite breeds include Pembroke Corgis, Bull Terriers, and Pitbull Terriers.

Lauren, CVT

DEA Coordinator

Lauren received her Veterinary Technician Certification from Bergen Community College in 2008. She has been in the veterinary field for 9 years. She worked at the ASPCA in NYC as well as Oradell Animal Hospital. She also has a lot of experience in emergency and critical care medicine. At Rutherford Animal Hospital she is our DEA coordinator as well as our lead pharmacy technician. Her special interests include feline medicine, pharmacology, emergency and critical care medicine.

Lauren has 2 cats: Bitly and Raggy and one dog: Abby. When not at work Lauren enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and boyfriend.
